our organic linen is made in small batches by sustainably run mills in eastern Europe. it is soft and hard wearing and so much more.
made from flax, Linen is naturally stain resistant, moth repellent and does not pile. It is completely biodegradable, recyclable and requires less dye than cotton. It’s anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, hypo allergenic and thermoregulating. Flax needs little or no fertilisers (making it almost naturally organic) and little extra water. It doesn’t need pesticides and can grown in poor quality soil, and unlike cotton it is said to have a positive effect on the environment; one hectare can retain 3.7 tonnes of CO2. and All parts of the plant are used. What isn’t used in linen production goes on to become linseed oil, paper, cattle feed or even soap.
