We are delighted to be hosting the wonderful Geo-Fleur on the 24th February in our Harborne store for three separate workshops on 24th february. YOu can book via their website, but for some deets read on…
Come and get your hands dirty and create an open terrarium using Succulents and cacti between 3 - 4pm
geo-fleur will provide everything required (if you wish for us to provide the terrarium at an extra cost) - the geometric glass terrarium, stones, activated charcoal, cactus soil, succulents and cacti- showing you the steps to create your own mini glass garden. There will also be advice of how to maintain your open terrarium.
or from 1.30 - 2.30 pm create a closed terrarium using polka dot plants and fittonia
geo-fleur will provide everything required - the apothecary bottle, stones, activated charcoal, soil and fittonia - showing you the steps to create your own ecosystem garden. There will also be advice of how to maintain your closed terrarium.
Included in the ticket are all the materials to make a demijohn terrarium that you will be able to take home with you in a geo-fleur bag.
or from 12 - 1pm you could learn how to make a kokedama
All the materials are provided by geo-fleur to make your very own kokedama, with a variety of air purifying house plant, which you will take home in a geo-fleur bag.
Also included in each of the workshops is a 10 minute Q&A session during which you can ask plant guru, founder of geo-fleur and author of Living with Plants - Sophie Lee - any plant questions you may have.

Slip-cast Fine Bone China Vessel workshop with Wendy Tournay
Sunday 10th March, 2-4.30pm, £45 capacity 10
Create your own slip-cast Fine Bone China vessel/tealight under the guidance of award-winning Birmingham Ceramicist Wendy Tournay.
During this workshop you will be introduced to the slip casting process using pre-made plaster moulds. You will slip cast your own vessel using Fine Bone China casting slip. You will develop ideas for the surface of your vessel focussing on line and texture and test these out on pre-cast tiles before applying these to your vessel. Demonstrations will be given of each technique covered.
All materials and equipment will be provided. This course is suitable for all abilities. Finished fired and glazed pieces will be available to collect from Hedge two weeks later.
Wendy designs and makes luxury handmade Contemporary Fine Bone China Ceramics from her home studio in Edgbaston, Birmingham.
She combines industrial processes and the finest bone china to produce unique minimalist pure white ceramic products to interest and excite the senses. Her work is inspired by the ethos of Scandinavian design with its functionality, honesty of materials and simplicity.
